Fred Dukes, aka the "Blob," is a mutant whose powers emerged during puberty. He can become immobile by binding himself to the earth, increasing gravity beneath him with sheer will. Initially using his powers as a carnival attraction, Blob later joined the Brotherhood of Mutants, often being manipulated by others.
St. John Allerdyce, or Pyro, is a mutant who can control fire but cannot generate it. He can shape flames, adjusting their size and intensity, and wears a specialized suit with a flamethrower that he can manipulate psionically. Mystique recruited him to join her Brotherhood of Mutants.
